Oil filter mount/threads

Recommended Posts

This '82, 720 w/Z22 has four threads milled around the oil filter mount.  I find nothing other than the block surface on which the oil filter gasket rests.  Are these threads there for a  part I am missing? TlR9R7X.jpg            A Spacer flange?  Specialized mating surface??  Just curious.  What gives?    If it is a part, can I get it somewhere?         Thanks in advance for any comments.

You can bolt a remote oil filter set up to that if you wanted to .... that all...

You can mount a 280zx turbo automatic oil cooler adapter. The 4 threaded holes allow you to clock the adapter to get it where you want it.

No.... but it is used on them. The KA also has a weird adapter that fits it for the oil pressure sender and to clock the filter for clearance.
