strightbar
My 1966 520 has a 5 speed dogleg (FS5W63a) with a broken synchro hub that I cannot find a replacement for. Is there an automatic Transmission that will mount up to the L16 and fit in this little truck?? 2 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
If you do have an L16 then you have 2 choices. Early 510s came with an optional British Borg Warner transmission. Later 510s came with an optional USA Muncie Indiana Borg Warner transmission. Both cars have the L16. 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Nissan began building their own JATCO 3N71B automatics (Japan Automatic Transmission COmpany) 3N71B and using them from an April '71 on 510. They are 26" same as the BW35 and the 63a dogleg. There was a short one for the A series in the 1200 also. All other years 3 speeds and makes were 31.5" long. Here's a '72 auto from a 510. 2 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
I put an L20B JATCO 3N71B automatic in my 66 520. It is the long version. The thing you might not be aware of is the L16 5 hole crank. The L20B is a 6 hole crank. Be sure to source a 5 hole flex plate. Quote Link to comment
