BACARDI_DWB
I am wondering how many guys i am going to need to lift the cab and the bed off? how much does the cab weight approx and same with the bed? empty of course without seats, fuel tank or anything. thanks guys. i am just wondering if its going to be easier to get a lift to pull off the cab. thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
'78 KC with only hood or grill missing. Me and my three teenage kids slid it up and back off the steering column. I would imagine two guys at each side at the back of the cab and one at the front would work. Two guys should be able to lift the box and walk is back off the frame. datsunaholic
I swapped 620 standard cabs by myself with an engine hoist (and one truck still had the engine in it). Only had to be careful with one cab, though. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
I've taken 521 beds off with a buddy, its heavy as fuck especially with the tank still on it :D Are there pics of your project? Why is the bed and cab coming off? Quote Link to comment
BACARDI_DWB
no pics just yet. but there will be. decided to take my time with the project and do some work on the frame. suspension stuff mainly, more stuff to follow when i actually get some stuff done. Quote Link to comment
veryboard
I think the cab is about 450 pounds probably 4 guys for a safe lift leave the doors on.The box is around 250 pounds two guys no problem grab wheel wells if good and lift.I have mine off right now, going to take cab off as well but have to finish putting in floor and fix a few spots to make cab strong enough for the lift. All as you can get hear in Ontario Canada is a rust bucket if your lucky.Have fun.
