If your site is hosting a Linked CSE configuration or you make a request for search results by specifying a “cref” parameter, then you will need to use the CSE control panel to set your CSE configuration. datsunfreak Posted May 13, 2017 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2017 search is working fine for me I realize now the issue. Search using Google is disabled (see above post). After you type something in the search bar, click the button that says Google, then select another option. I typed in something and selected Forums instead of Google and it works that way.
