angliagt
Looking to find a source for a carb base gasket (the thick one), for my '78 B210. Quote Link to comment
B2Fresh
I have some but need to see what your old one looks like for reference.. LMK Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If a gasket and not a plastic spacer just about anything will do. Dollar store hole punch, pencil, scissors and a cereal box and about ten minutes. I've done this with my water pump, the two fuel pump gaskets, the thermostat and thermostat housing gasket. You almost never have to buy one again or are never stuck without a way to make one. Quote Link to comment
angliagt
This is a spacer - looks like it has a rubber hose coming off of it. Quote Link to comment

B2Fresh
The one I have is the thick spacer "gasket". That why I was asking for a picture of it. Quote Link to comment
angliagt
On the parts car it's Brown,& aprox. 1/2" thick. Appears to look plastic, but not sure if it is.Couldn't get the carb off of the parts car.You have to remove a bunch of stuff to get to the one remaining nut (Surprise!). There ALWAYS seems to be one nut/bolt that's hard to remove. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
For my L carb I cut the box end off a 12mm wrench and smoothed it. Only 3" long but works like a hot damn. Also have a magnet and a dental pick to flip the nut & washer off and capture it with. The dental pick also holds the nut as you lower it on and over the stud. Once on, the pick can be used to rotate it to get started. Quote Link to comment
