RandyinRenton
I was wondering if anybody had tried converting a weber 32/36 manual choke to electric or coolant type? Aren't they all the same on the carb side? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I would imagine the choke plates are all the same it's just the method used to open and close them that it different. Haven't heard any good things about the water choke so maybe avoid them. I like electric chokes. Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
I'll take a manual choke over electric anyday. More reliable and gives you control over how much choke you want. My electric choke kicks on and off unless I let the truck fully warm up before driving, even then it still acts up sometimes... I think it's dependant on outside temperature... It almost always over chokes it too and it revs pretty high while warming up, wasting precious fuel. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yeah the auto is just easier. I used to have a Bronco and lived on a highway. Pull the choke to get started and go. once up to speed shut it off. Saves more gas that an auto that would stay on for several miles or more. Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
So anyone got a good pics of the manual choke cable/linkage/etc? Gotta figure out how to rig one. Quote Link to comment
hogboy52
Both systems are too complicated to change over with vacuum let-offs and idle speed cams and so have completly different top lids. On the 620's the choke cable knob is in the same position as the dash dimmer pot on the others. Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
The manual choke model does not have the mounts for the electric choke housing. Quote Link to comment
racerx
To be honest, I like manual chokes better than electric. But you can convert them... Quote Link to comment
