ibrokeit02
I just bought the fs5w71b I'll just swap my case with it and be done. I'll be glad when this is over, I need my work truck back. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Those had Borg Warner t-5s in them. At least the 84 to 87s. Only the Turbos though. Yes but Ibrokit02 has an FS5W71C so N/A zx. Got a buddy with 3 of them. He swaps Pathfinder transmissions in. Probably V6 Pathfinder so if the spline is larger it would fit. 1 Quote Link to comment
ibrokeit02
The majority of the noise was the throw out bearing. The rest of the noise is 5th gear is missing a tooth. So it's back together until my new transmission gets here. 1 Quote Link to comment
ibrokeit02
New question. My gear shift sounds like a dildo running on high. Will replacing the bushing on bottom make it shut up? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Replacing the two side ones and the bottom cup will sure help. How you know what a dildo on high sounds like... I don't want to know. 1 Quote Link to comment

ibrokeit02
It's not transmission related but I put a new radio in and my wipers quit working. So while troubleshooting my wipers my blinkers quit working. I checked the fuses. They are all good but I don't have any power coming up to the switch. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ignition has to be on. If on accessory the turn signals won't work. The radio is fuse #7. Wipers are fuse #6. Turn signals are fuse #4 (#1 is far left side) #7 and #6 are on the accessory section of the fuse box, #4 is on the ignition side of the fuse box. Either both fuses are bad or you have no power to the ignition switch. Quote Link to comment
Rshields85
Instead of starting a new thread I was wondering if someone could help me with my transmission woes. I have a 1986 Nissan 720 2wd that will grind into second and pop into neutral when not under load. It also has a leak coming from the tailshaft output. I have been entirely unable to find any rebuild kits for my FS5W71B, only for the 71C, which is what all the parts stores are telling me I have even though my doorplate says otherwise. Pet Rock
I also have an 81 KC 4x4. Looking for synchro for 5th and slider and hub - so Im told. Tranny was slipping out of 5th. Bucking in first despite high RPM. And on and off dying while idling. Friend at a shop is looking for the parts now. Its been a week and a half. Thanks to all of you for valuable information, pictures etc. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Probably better to start your own post in 720 so that people answering you are not mistaken for answers for the original poster. This way all answers are yours and no confusion. Quote Link to comment
