blackrado
Hi there, I am a long time admirer of the Datsun 510 and until now have just been on this site to look at the classifieds weekly. The quirky styling, the IRS, the racing heritage, the newschool aftermarket scene, everything about 510s interest me. I am at the point where I will be buying a project (Datsun 510 or Triumph TR6) within the next 60 days and I am realizing, while I have drooled and researched for YEARS on the 510, I have never driven (in) one. Long story short, anyone in the Seacoast NH area interested in taking a guy for a little cruise some Saturday/sunday (15 mins)? Dunkin coffee and a donut on me! I know weather is not great this time of year, but thought I would throw it out there if there was an enthusiast near by looking to give me another reason to join the 510 club... Happy holidays Rob Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Good luck with that. Not a lot of East Coast Datsuns out there. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
And someone pointed out that if you don't track it you're not an enthusiast so none of us are enthusiasts 1 Quote Link to comment
Burns85
I would, but she is up on jack stands for the winter while I do rockers and some metal work. 1 Quote Link to comment
freetheoranges
I did that once with a guy in Portland, OR selling a 1968-73 Four Door 510 color: yellow cut with a lot of white; the color I want my dime........... Drove me around the block and then said selling price was [to me at the time out of my price range, the time two-thousand and eight, exorbitant maybe for Automatic L16 (I think)] $6400.. I most certainly did not buy it. I was far to inexperienced when I had a jeep Cherokee instead. :shudder: Quote Link to comment
dgi
Welcome to Ratsun. Yep, 510s are pretty hard to come by on the East Coast, especially up north. Search for Ratsun user "dime dave" here on the forum. He is in New Hampshire. I don't know if he has a street driven 510 at the moment, but I'd bet he knows someone that does. His company FutoFab supplies parts for 510s You should find a link in his last post. dgi PS Found his last post for you http://community.ratsun.net/topic/64784-futofab-thanks-to-everyone-for-a-great-cyber-monday/?do=findComment&comment=1175561 Quote Link to comment
Dime Dave
Rob & I have been in touch. I have a prospect for him, but typical of New England cars it is certainly not rust free. I can't offer a ride unfortunately, my most complete car has been off the highway for a few years and right now it is in full on hillclimb trim with no plates and a straight pipe. My buddy Lou here in NH I'm sure would offer you a ride in his bright yellow 69 box flared 2 door, but it has been put away 'til Spring. whouse is in Grey, ME might have been another prospect, but his car is also off the road. Its tough to find a road going 510 in the NE, let alone anyone willing to drive it after the first freeze (IE road salt application). Quote Link to comment
qwik510
Come on down to DC and I'll give you a ride. As long as you get here before they salt the roads. If not, you"ll be waiting until spring. Quote Link to comment

Happy holidays Rob Hey Rob I'm in Danville, NH and work at the Seabrook Power Plant. Like Dave said "Futofab Dave than is" I would but the 510 is put away until salt is all washed away. But you are welcome to come over and check out my 510. You know, Qwik510 is selling his three door 510 wagon. Quote Link to comment
