Cooper78b210
So I have a 78 b210 non ac, automatic. Power brake booster went out I'm trying to install the new one but the rod length (from booster to master) is much too long even with the nut adjusted all the way down. The booster bolted up to the fire wall perfectly and same to the peddle. Also I noticed that the new booster has four studs coming out of it two long ones and two short ones. The long ones are positioned so my master bolts up to them. If I were even able to bolt it down all the way I believe the studs would hit the master. So I'm thinking autozone did not hook it up with the proper part. Should have tried rock auto... any help would be greatly appreciated guys Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You got the wrong one. Even more likely to happen with Rockauto. The good news is that Autozone makes returns easy. Take the original one with you. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Take the original one with you. Quote Link to comment
Cooper78b210
I'm the idiot that let them take my core when the new one came in. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What was the problem with it? Quote Link to comment
Cooper78b210
The length of the rod going to the master. It's too long. And the studs that the master bolts to are also too long. Otherwise it fits great to the fire wall Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I meant the old one. Never seen a bad one, although I left the hose off one winter and a few bugs spent Christmas and New Year partying in there and the one way valve wasn't working... so no assist. Easy fix. . Quote Link to comment
Mikeystoy
Did you leave the spacers on the old one? Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
The 620 adapter is much thicker. Get a B210 part. Quote Link to comment
Cooper78b210
Just got home from picknpull and they had a 74 b210 there. Got the adapter and other goodies. Now I just have to wait for the booster to arrive and I'm golden. Thanks for all the help guys 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Good on ya. The one at Rancho Cordoba pick-n-pull looks like a 1977 (grille, bumper and black color were different for 1974). Quote Link to comment
Nicholas7620
I got a replacement from Rock Auto, no problem with the power booster (perfect fit), I had help from a mechanic friend so I knew to keep spacer, whew. Quote Link to comment
