SkeeterScooter
I have a 78 620Went to add some oil today and noticed excessive air blowingout of the valve cover..- Is there anything that is commonly found among 620s that havethis issue?I know it's most likely bad rings, but I wanted to check. wayno
There is always blow-by at an idle, just don't add oil while it is running. My brand new LZ23 block had blow-by, but when I put my hand over the hole and revved it, it sucked on my hand. It all really depends on if you have leaks everywhere because of excessive blow-by blowing out the gaskets. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
crank case the block will blow air out when reved it will suck in. use a PCV valve at the intake. valve cover always blows air out at idle. I just route a hose down buy the trans or is stock use the pipeing to the aircleaner or if weber use a hose from aircleaner to a L shape tube to under the weber to suck the stink. ggzilla
The only thing that cause air to blow out the engine is the rings. A little clear flow is normal and is handled by the pcv system. Visible flow means the rings are not sealing well. Quote Link to comment
