u67 cam on w58

So I have a u67 head sitting here I under stand the head would be no good on my L16 so my question is. Is it worth putting the L20 cam on my w58 head and what is all involved in that is it just pull out the old and put in the new one or is there other things I have to replace I was reading that the L20 cam is a little upgrade

Are there any stampings on the back of either cam? Are they both stock cams?

Ya stock cams the cam in the u67 is a u20 cam not sure on the w58 head

I have a U67 on my L16.

lowers the compression. and maybe more prone to pinging. but will get the car/truck running.

 

Just bolt the MOFO on and call it good

 

w58 is round port exhaust but pretty much the same

you can swap cams no problem just double check that there is no binding with it & the cam towers.

Is it an L20B cam? That's the same as the L16 SSS cam. So if you don't rev the L16 to 7000 rpm, don't bother.

BTW a W58 is an L20b head also did you mean W53.?

The stock cams for a U67 head and a W58 head are identical.  They're both L20B heads.
