0r0B210
Hi guys. I could not find an opening to change the light bulb for my front turn signal. It seems to be a sealed assembly. Has anyone out there changed this light bulb before? If so, how was this done? Thanks all! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The lens has two screws on the front. Remove them then pull the lens off. The bulbs twist 1/8 turn. They are standard 1073 bulbs. Quote Link to comment
0r0B210
My bad, I have a 76 B210. It has the round turn signal lights. I always forget something when describing my dilemma. Thanks for the fast response though! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Like this? Comes out the same way, but has 3 screws and 1 bulb. 2 screws 1977-1978 (model year started August 1976) Quote Link to comment
Sierra
Same mechanics as ggzilla explained. You just have an extra piece. the metal rim around the lens. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Bulb 1157 only $2 at any auto parts store or wal-mart. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1210802,parttype,2872 Datsun spec is bulb 1034 but 1157 is commonly used just uses more current. Quote Link to comment
0r0B210
Thanks Sierra and GG! I have removed the light completely but the lens does not twist off, and seems to be glued shut. I cannot find a way to pry it open without cracking, or breaking, the lens housing. I guess I need a heat gun or something. I thought it would twist out from the back, or at least twish something off so I can get to the bulb and replace it. Thanks for your input Quote Link to comment
Sierra
I think I still have the pair form the pics above. Let me check tonight, after work. If they end up braking come over and get my set. Free of charge :) Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The lens does not twist off. It pulls straight off but tends to stick to the rubber seal. Quote Link to comment
0r0B210
Ok, so I pried the lens' off. Thanks guys! I am so happy I have the stock fan shroud, coolant recovery tank, and belly pan. I noticed something new though. I noticed that the belt from the crank to idler to smog/air pump is not lined up correctly. It seems as if the idler pulls the belt forward to line up with the smog pump pulley. How can I resolve this inconsistency in the belt route? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The idler assy. usually is a hodge podge of intricate stamped metal pieces. It would be easy to put the wrong piece on first and space the idler outwards. Have a look it maybe can be mounted further back? Quote Link to comment
