There are two times when there is lots of blow by. When the rings and or cylinder is/are worn out, and before the rings are first broken in. Blow by is going to contain unburnt gas in it. If the carb is not jetted properly and running rich or choke is on or carb flooding, this will also get into the oil. If no more gas is added the heat will slowly 'cook off' the gas in it.
