flatcat19
There's a complete Starion down the road for 600$ Running when parked in 04. I'll probably keep this car as is. It's in good original condition and I've seen very few that aren't on the drag strip. It's no Datsun but I'm liking it. Quote Link to comment
datsunrides
8v 4G64 from a mighty max is almost a straight swap and is a wide block with a cable trans and has 130hp stock. I would someday like to swap a 24v 4G64 into my 72 Colt. As raptor said, classic colt is where the braintrust is on old mitsu's (not that he is not knowledgeable) and also sigma/galant, which is a better source of parts, but shipping is killer as almost everyone there is down under. Projectzerog has all the engine/trans info you could need. Mark Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
so thats where my steering wheel came from.. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The Plymouth steering wheel fits in a 510? Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Hardly a Plymouth. Much more believable a Mitsu steering fits a 510 or possibly the 520... Quote Link to comment

But good point on the swap, these engines/transmissions are easily available for cheap, then when the time comes 4g63 head swap and Turbo engage. Interesting how the Mitsubishi numbers are growing on here lolol. -Robert Quote Link to comment

Dat Lurka
Thanks, I like it more every day. Those HP ratings, this engine is rated at 100hp as is and the dual solex version with header rated at 123hp Quote Link to comment
RaptorReed
Mark I think either you got your # of valves mixed up or your engines lol. Do you mean 16v 4g64 or 24v 6g72? Quote Link to comment
Mikeystoy
had a '76 I bought for $100, the guy said it just started missing and wouldn't pass smog. Bright orange, white interior and a rear louver, it only had 69,000 original miles on it. 1600/4sp it had a blown hg between 3/4. I left it with the ex when I bailed socal. It ended up at ecology..... Quote Link to comment

Dat Lurka
I really want a rear louver and whale tale. Keep the copper and paint the top half black and lower it on black appliance mesh. Sounds about right. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mikeystoy
paint and body was really nice save for the hood, it was just starting to bubble like yours Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
Mine has holes the size of half dollars. besides bubbles on the roof and surface rust on the tail end this car is cancer free. Quote Link to comment

Dat Lurka
Happy Valentines Day! Fired it up and ran some carb cleaner through it. It's getting better by the minute. 10 years of goo running through the fuel system  1 Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
seafoam it? Quote Link to comment
RaptorReed
Seafoam the shit out of it! Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
I will when I can afford some lol. I thought I had some but apparently used it all up in the last 10 projects. Like my 77 KC, run a tank of seafoam through it and a couple fuel filters should do the trick. Quote Link to comment

Mikeystoy
Running sour gas is roughly the same as running sugar; when it cools it tends to glue the valves in whatever position they were in. Like the others said; drain, fill and a couple cans of seafoam. $6.99 at napa through the end of the month. Quote Link to comment
