Eagle_Adam
why only one inner tie rod? Link to comment
heretic
Well I just buy it as an assembly its generally cheaper... so correction one inner tie rod assembly :) Link to comment
heretic
a note on the tension rods.... they do not work like "struted" Datsuns to adjust caster.. the truck tension rods have a torq spec & merely anchor the LCA in position. Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
must be my dyslexia..... but i cant seem to grasp the fucking tie rods without looking at my truck, which i dont have cus my little brother is borrowing it and im at work Link to comment

]2eDeYe
You can get them all through rock auto, unless your wanting to pay stealership pricing. Make sure to get the adjustable outer tie rod assys (4), it will make aligning the truck a lot easier. Link to comment
heretic
I don't.... on the ball joints the Moog units are REALLY nice, have all the hardware & reliefs on the boots to prevent over greasing. 1 Link to comment
heretic
I wasn't aware they even made adjustable outters... all the ones I've bought are one piece non-adjustable units.I thought of making a set of adjustable ones just for ease of alignment. .... Make sure to get the adjustable outer tie rod assys (4), it will make aligning the truck a lot easier. Link to comment
heretic
on the last 2 trucks I've done I just set the center link at 20 5/16" as described in the FSM & dude at Les Scwab had zero issues aligning it. Link to comment
]2eDeYe
That's because you set the only adjustment needed and he just had to fine tune it :) 1 Link to comment
heretic
well SHIT I don't know how I feel about that, I'm feeling a little ripped off hahaha That's because you set the only adjustment needed and he just had to fine tune it :) Link to comment
jvb5577
Tie rods "complete" are pricey. They run around 30-40 a piece. Everything else can be had at good prices...I know I just did all of it :P Be wary of the rock auto closeout ball joints, got some and they where JUNK! Spend the little extra cash for a good set. 1 Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
screw it, im just gunna hold off on ordering till i have my truck infront of me,....... Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Be wary of the rock auto closeout ball joints, got some and they where JUNK! Spend the little extra cash for a good set. This is true. They are very good at replacement though, but that does take time. Link to comment
]2eDeYe
well SHIT I don't know how I feel about that, I'm feeling a little ripped off hahaha It still needed that adjustment  You were setting it factory, he is adjusting for your ride height. Of course you could adjust the toe yourself with Mikes writeup that is somewhere around here :D Of course if the outers are adjustable then it will require a bit more math. 1 Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
this can be locked - a few bills came up and the suspension overhaul will happen at a later date :/ Link to comment
datzenmike
To keep the Insomniac crowd out I'll lock it. Let me know when you want it back up, Adam. 1 Link to comment
