71datsuns
I need to replace my rear axle studs on my 521. I've gone to baxters, napa, auto zone almost all auto parts stores! Is there any place to get replacements? Or do I need to go to a junk yard? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Pound a stud out and take it into the store. Don't try to look it up by application. Let the parts guy size it up. Dorman catalog will have tons of studs you can use. May need new lugs with it though. And if you're going that far may as well get longer ones too. Add 12 more studs and nuts to do the front too. DanielC
The studs that hold the wheel are threaded 7/16-20. This is an American SAE size. All the bolts for the body of the 521 are also SAE sized. 2 Quote Link to comment

Or with DanielC's info, look them up at summitracing.com. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Want to add, front and back have different knurling thicknesses. Quote Link to comment
71datsuns
Yeah, I brought the stud to pretty much all the auto part store you can think of. One came close but the knurl was to thick. I haven't tried fastenal! Might do that today. Thanks guys! Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
Wow, wouldn't have though that. Worse case would be Nissan like Mike mentioned. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the part number is; 40221-04101 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
If they're just a hair too big, no stress. Get em! They're soft so they will squish into the holes in the hub. Extra stuck means extra awesome! Did you check the 521 pinned part thread for the ARP studs part numbers? :poke: Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I'm wondering if these parts houses aren't able to find you studs because of the little notch on the 521's stud. I didn't do much searching because 1.) I don't have 521s anymore, and 2.) my parts houses are on it. But I did locate this... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/25695-wheel-studs/?p=369621&fromsearch=1&do=findComment&comment=369621 Quote Link to comment

Baxters had one that was close, but the knurl was probably a 16th too big. I have not check that yet.... will do now thanks!
