wagoon
I'm looking for the sizes for the engine bolts for an L20B, meaning lengths as well: Water pump, all of the timing chain from the tensioner and dampener(s), timing cover, head bolts for a U67, and so forth. I searched carpartsmanual.com and all they have is the model #'s which I do not need. I want to just go to Pep boys and go brand new all the way around instead of waiting for the old L16 engine to come out. I'm ready to put this together now. Any one know off hand? Dawa
if i remember, i can take my calipers out and measure for you tomorrow. PM in the middle of the day maybe around 1 or 2 also, i see youre in chula vista. check out marshalls industrial hardware in miramar. they have an awesome selection of bolts that are very affordable. theyll be grade 8 zinc bolts. im sure you can find a 'hardware' store closer but thats the only one i know off hand youll save a lot more money this way and youll get exactly what you want http://www.yelp.com/biz/marshalls-industrial-hardware-san-diego#query:hardware Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
You could take one bolt out at a time and have them matched. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Personally, there is nothing finer than OE bolts. Got a rock tumbler by chance? 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
You are going to send him measurements of every bolt on the engine?? Man your going to be measuring for half the day Quote Link to comment

wagoon
Ahh yeah...post up another fine write up for the L-series L20b bolts!!! Much appreciated Dawa. I do not have a tumbler; although having one wouldn't be a bad idea but I gotta save up for my manifold and other stuff. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
You can get a rock tumbler at HF for cheap. There was a cool write-up in Project Car Magazine about how to restore your bolts. I'll go hunt it down. Cheaper than going generic. EDIT: http://forums.aaca.org/f134/19-rock-tumbler-201434.html The write-up in Project Car used different materials/media, but you get the point. Dawa
rock tumblr and evaporust for rusty items evaporust eats zinc coatings and similar though... but if the item is over ridden with rust, evaporust is the way to go. not necessarily on topic with engine hardware but still a good reference Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Personally, there is nothing finer than OE bolts. I have part numbers for the OEM bolts...well most of them anyway. Quote Link to comment
