It depends on compression, fuel octane, air temp and humidity, altitude, engine temp, fuel mixture and probably a few others. The L series is designed to run at or around 12 degrees but the variables listed above can move this up or down slightly. If your car runs well at 12 then good enough. It's not always a good idea to crowd the pre ignition point. Quote Link to comment
