Naco1
Again. Ok. So here's the deal. I hooked up the hei module with the dizzy. I wired it exactly how it's wired on the sticky write up. My problem is. When i rev up it runs fine. Just at about 2000rpm it loses spark. I hooked up a spark tester and the spark cuts off after 2000rpm. The engine doesn't cut out but the rpm's drop back to idle. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
Naco1
Brand new. Flame thrower. But after doing some more research. I'm thinking it has to be the coil. Isn't the flamethrower coil set up for the Petronix point dist. ? Thanks for the reply racerx Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can't go wrong with stock equipment. Get a '78 or up coil from an L20B. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Thinking your secondary winding is shot. Call petronix and find out the resistance or go on line, ohm out your coil. No reason to have hipo coil unless you have pertronix setup. Quote Link to comment
Naco1
Ok. Tomorrow morning I'll go at it early. I'll update with results. Thanks again dudes Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
maybe your dizzy is off a tooth? flamethroewer coil? whats the ohm reading for ita? you order a 3 ohm or a 1.5 ohm. a EI uses the .7ohm coils say for a 78/79 model year 620. does coil feel hot? Quote Link to comment
Naco1
So I bought a new HEI module(15$) and a new MSD high vibration coil(50$) I guess the msd blaster 2 coil doesn't like vibration or to be mounted any way but virtically. So I went with the high vibration. And it runs again. I don't know what fixed it but changing those 2 things made the truck run. Now it's to the muffler shop to do my exhaust. Thanks again for all the help guys. Quote Link to comment
