, but Ron had a rear main in an 01 Pontiac grand am. Means pulling the fwd motor and tranny to change the seal. It could only be down for the weekend, or they'd have to rent a car, so I decided to help.

Started Saturday about noon. Plenty of daylight left when it was out.

Changed the seal, the oil pan gasket looked a little suspect, so we put some silicone on it... Got ready to finish up the next day. That's what I'm gonna do, its 1 am and I'm beat. I gotta go to work tommorow.

Front motor mount was toast.

Easy to get to though, a little reinforcement, and its good for another couple months. Got it back together, and it was leaking oil worse than before. Took it back apart, and the oil pan gasket needed more than silicone to stop the leak. Now we pull the oil pan and he runs for a new gasket. The oil light sensor was leaking too, we changed that too.

Gasket changed, no leaks, installed motor, and all the other crap we had to pull to get it out.

Test drove it at about 11. I leaked some lubricant on the serp belt, it squeals a bit, so we need to degrease the front pulleys and belt.

Not too bad for a weekends work.

Nice work and definitely a good bud.

Well, thank you very much. He was thrilled with me. Except, I'm the genius that sprayed white lithium over the adjuster for my engine hoist that over sprayed onto the belt. :S. V belts wipe down easier for sure. No leaks though.
