j_boy_619
Hello Ratsun. I'm new to the datsun world, but I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. Long story short, I know have a 1975 datsun 210 (stock A14... But :/ its automatic). I've been planning to modernized it a bit . A brief list of what I plan and what I'm confused on: -K'n'N air filter (I don't know how to remove the AGR let alone what it looks like) -Switch to a 5 or 6 speed (don't know what tranny is a bolt on) -Electronic Ignition (I bought the pertonix but don't know what the heck everything connects to) -Bought a newer muffler (going to remove the cat) -Electronic fan -Newer alternator -Bucket seats! -Front spoiler -Fix heater (only the passenger side feet area works -Touch screen radio (still figuring out if it fits anywhere) -280z rims and wheels (will they hit the fenders?) And more in planning! I've been reading the forum like crazy. But if you could help me with the ones I'm lost on, it would be great! Still figuring out how to upload pics 1 Quote Link to comment

Still figuring out how to upload pics '75 is a B210, and the B210 didn't have a cat until '76. There is a pre-muffler which is what I'm assuming you mean. This can be removed and replaced with a straight pipe without problem. Check the underside plastic hose under the dash to help with the heater. A normal sized din radio will not fit without cutting the dash. I put mine under the dash beneath the glovebox. Which 280z rims or do you mean 280zx?? Most will fit without problems, if 15s go with smaller size tires or they will rub. I don't know of a 6 speed that bolts to the A series but there are a couple of different 5 speeds available. If going with a 63a dogleg, save the driveshaft as it is the same as the automatic. The trans mount can also be reused by adding a couple of holes to line up with the stock mounting points. Alot of seats will fit a '75 as they do not have the floor hump for the cat, just reuse the mounting rails. MR2 seats are popular, I used older Porsche seats. Get a Golf MK2 large duckbill spoiler ~75 from blackforest industries. Go with the later 210 internally reg alternator, direct bolt in and needs a jumper for the regulator plug but super easy to change and higher output. O'Reilly has them cheap. I would suggest picking up a set of 280zx front struts and adding a spring stiffener for the rear leafs. Also if you just got the car, the front end is probably in need of a rebuild, this is cheap and easy and will very much improve the handling. Changing out the struts and rear shocks is also not too expensive and makes a big difference. Oh and post pics pronto. Quote Link to comment

My distributor goes to some box thing that then leads into the car. Then some how ends up at my coil.... to me, wiring is like magic. Sry https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-M-8wwmUYWx8/UR9JO8QAwMI/AAAAAAAAABc/jynDpk3OWks/s580/13+-+2 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JXhhYdJyD8Q/UR9JO5YdL9I/AAAAAAAAABo/DSJTGw0AZpE/s580/13+-+3 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IsKI1kVo7eI/UR9JO__B2CI/AAAAAAAAACE/xc3WPfyZBT4/s580/13+-+4 Then the pertronixs looks like this https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ungJ9pkqZ2w/UR9Lxo3Ep2I/AAAAAAAAAEU/SCVpVBv9-yA/s580/13+-+1 Any advice? j_boy_619
Well I got the part about removing the inside. But where do the wires go? Just splice em with the 2 original wires? Or directly to the coil? Quote Link to comment

j_boy_619
But the dude told me I could just drop it in the original distributor. Darn. Also, what can I snag a 63a transmission out of? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I'm sure there's a way, the stock Nissan Electronic dizzy is also a bolt in option. Quote Link to comment

j_boy_619
Aww man. Tried to do it, but once i got down to the last few screws. Found out that they were stripped. Here I come plug and play EI dizzy. Quote Link to comment
king bee66
There isn't really a plug and play option, best case, if you get a matchbox with the pigtails your still going to have to link it into the harness Quote Link to comment

j_boy_619
Ok so I've read the forums and wired the pertronix coil + dizzy both ways (ballast and without) still no luck, it wont start. Please datsun gods, help me! Also, I was looking at the air filter.... then i noticed something weird.... the PO plugged 2 of the hoses with spark plugs... does any one know why? is this the AGR? Kisor
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-M-8wwmUYWx8/UR9JO8QAwMI/AAAAAAAAABc/jynDpk3OWks/s580/13+-+2 That looks like factory electronic ignition yo begin with. There is no advantage to the petronix. I'm on mobile so its hard to determine for sure jut put that back and don't mess with it. Lol... Edit, yea stop doing whatever you are doing and return all that mess back to factory. Please tell me the big red and black wires connected to the coil aren't running directly to the battery. :( I'm not trying to be disrespectful but please do more research about what you have before throwing parts at it. Looks like you have a California emission car that came with EI and air pump. The air pump you can lose, keep the factory ignition, its better than the petronix anyway. You may have egr also, I would leave it as it doesn't affect performance and may help with fuel mileage. 1 Quote Link to comment
