Bagged620bulletside
So i have this relay under my dash on the passenger side i googled it and i found out its a fuel pump/control relay is that true? Also my clicks an insane amount all the time and was wondering if that is a normal thing? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Could also be the electric choke relay. If about the size of the end of your thumb. It will buzz if the alternator is not charging properly. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
insane clicking is not normal. If you disconnect it, will the engine still start? Quote Link to comment

thestrange
I also have the same lone relay. when i was diagnosing my spark issues awhile back, i was noticing that relay would click when i was sending a positive jumper to either coil. I just raised an eyebrow and moved on lol. It seemed to be working fine so i didn't investigate further. Quote Link to comment
JoeR
I had a similar problem with my fuel pump relay. It would start clicking and then the truck would die. I took my old one out and took it apart only to find that the inside looked like someone hit it with a blow torch. When I went to get a replacement, Oreilly no longer stocked it, even though it shows up on their website. I got mine from NAPA for about $75. The most difficult thing about dealing with it is mounting back onto the firewall, best get yourself a right-angle screwdriver. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I've had this for years.... http://dlarson.hubpages.com/hub/The-Datsun-and-Nissan-Pickup-Fuel-Pump-Relay-What-the-Haynes-Automotive-Repair-Manual-Wont-Tell-You Quote Link to comment
izzo
http://community.ratsun.net/topic/38191-1986-720-fp-relay-wiring/#entry591709 Mine would work for two weeks, go out for a day, work for two weeks. It turned out to be the accessory wire. That relay gets signal from your accessory, alternator, and oil switch. Should you wreck it shuts off, why its clicking like that? Who the fuck knows. I've had 3 720 pickups that clicked like that. The link I posted was a solution that I did. Cost me all of 4 dollars. Never had an issue with the clicking, or the FP shutting off again.
