wagoon
My temp gauge is not plugged in, noticed my brown wire that connects to the the sensor is cut. Where does the wire get connected to on the other end? Do I have to change the temp sensor as well? It doesn't seem to overheat, I just would like to know the temp. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
The sensor screws into the engine The temp gauge is in the dash Wires connect the two Not sure what you are trying to ask... my brown wire that connects to the the sensor is cut... Do I have to change the temp sensor as well? You don't need to change the sensor if it is the wire that is cut ...But you do need to find the other end of the cut wire and splice them back together again. The wire that connects to the sensor goes into the engine compartment wiring harness. I believe it is Yellow with Red stripe (YR) and not brown. Try cleaning the wire up. Quote Link to comment
wagoon
Where does this connect too so I can get my temp gauge on the cluster to work? So the wire to follow to connect is located where in the engine compartment wiring harness? I also found some yellow wire here... Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
To the other end of wherever the yellow wire was cut, at the harness. The brown wire was someone's home-made extension. The wire would have come from the harness up somewhere by the radiator I believe. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It goes to that Yellow/White stripe wire. Quote Link to comment
