hb_justice
Getting normal voltage through the ballast resistor and coil but I am not getting a spark at the end of the coil wire. Any ideas? I am running a Mallory but I'm not getting spark to it. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
With key on, get a short jumper wire and touch the -(neg) side of the coil to ground several times. You should have spark. Yes sparks... Points are closed and not opening Points are open but not closing Dizzy loose or not properly grounded. Wire between dizzy and neg side of coil missing, loose, wired wrong. No spark the coil is bad. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
This is the Unilite you got from Carter? Maybe the module broke already? You can put the old point dizzy back in and hook up 1 wire to it ans see if it woorks. at ballast you should get close to 12volts and at coil about half that, like 6 volts (not running) higher running . ck the module to see if cracked or rubbing on soemthing. I believe you can get new modules.$$$$$$$$$ Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Mallroy? I thought you ment the coil was Mallroy. Throw away and get a real distributor from a Nissan product. Paint it red, don't tell anyone. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
With key on, get a short jumper wire and touch the -(neg) side of the coil to ground several times. You should have spark. You won't get any spark if the engine is stopped with the points closed. If you remove the cap you can watch the points or force them open. Then you will get one fair spark from this method. But probably not sparks. With the matchbox certainly not. Quote Link to comment
