c10jim
In the first picture it appears as if the truck has bias ply tires. How old is the first picture? Quote Link to comment
SHORTDOG
That 85 looks like half breed Nis/Toy but the 4x4 grille gives it that old school look! Quote Link to comment
Smyrna720
Dibs. If you can find a round headlight grille, I would gladly purchase it from you. I've only seen them in the middle east, and I've only seen them for 1980. Stupidly, last time I was in country I didn't look for one... Wish I would have now. Let me know if you're interested in doing business and how much a grille like that goes for. Edit: For the rest of us, here's pic of a whole front end on a truck. You can see that there's way more to this than just the grille. For sure the grille, parking lights, fenders, lower valence, are all different. I've heard the bumper is the same as the early 720s and the radiator support may or may not be different. All I really need is the grille, parking lights and lower valence. I can fake the rest. skyc110
I went to Datsun Agency, they said no more but they give 2 diff. numbers 62312 - 01w00 100$ not available and 62312 - 03w00 54$ not available also ( may be one is Gray and the other is black ) I bought an NOS ( 2 LH and & 7 RH ) round headlight buckets from a collector, Ill show photo with in 7 days, edit on 13 Aug ( I just recieve the RH 26010 - 03W00) X 1 only the distances between the centers of the mounting holes 29.5 cm X 14.5 cm here r they , now I need a 720 to know wether they replace the rect. buckets new one any way Ill find the NOS hear or their, just wait what I found is AM full of dust ( made in Taiwan long time ago ) ( in my opinion not worth for car show ), weighing about 1 kg or less. so I am selling it 40 $ + 60$ shipping charge to US , Can , Maly and 70$ Aus Quote Link to comment
DREWSDIME
This grill for sale? Quote Link to comment
Smyrna720
Ok, here is what I've found out. #1) The lower valence, bumper, parking lights, and radiator support are all 1980-83 Datsun standard issue stuff. It is different than my 1984-86 stuff that I own though. #2) The only parts you absolutely have to have from overseas to do this conversion is the grille and the headlight buckets. Everything else should be readily available in the US. This is what happens when you listen to your friends and don't do your own research. So... if you can find the headlight buckets to go with that grille you have yourself a deal. I'm not looking to put together a show truck, I'm just looking to do something a little different. Smyrna720
Also just more fuel for the fire. I found a Russian website that has some obscure catalogs for these trucks. www.japancars.ru Run it in Google Chrome and it'll translate it for you. JoeCool
Nice looking trucks! As for the round headlights, they just don't look right on the otherwise squared off bodies to me. I like my rectangular ones on my 80 better! Quote Link to comment
