...Are there any other vehicles that you can source an H190 from?

I know 81-83 200sx is primary candidate for B210 swap,... and I defiently want rear disc brakes.

I know they used an H190 in the D21 trucks, but my guess is that its different than what I need for my B210ZX.

Here's what I found on: http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13487

Sources for H-190 3.889 third members:

'80-'84 Maxima wagon with 3.364, 3.545 and 3.70 ratios.

'82-83 200sx auto 3.70 and manual 3.545

'80-'82.5 720 2wd manual 3.889

'82.5-'83 720 2wd auto 3.70 manual 3.545

'83.5-'86 720 diesel 3.889

'83-'86 720 2wd auto 3.889 and manual 3.70

In all cases the rear end ratio is stamped into the aluminum engine tag located on the passenger side cowl area on cars and on passenger side inner fender under hood hinge on the 720. I would not bother with the 720 4X4 as the ratios are 4.11 and above. The H-190 was used also in the D-21 Hardbody and up through the '90s but I'm not as familiar with those models.

81-83 200sx is NOT good for the B210. It's too wide, and it doesn't bolt in, it has 4-link connectors instead of leaf spring plates for the B210. The primary swap candidate is 320 pickup. The 200SX units work in the B310 (210).

Here is a list of vehicles that used the H190:

  • Datsun SPL311/SRL311 "Roadster/Sports"
  • Datsun 410/411
  • Datsun 510 Wagon
  • Datsun 320 Pickup
  • Datsun 520 Pickup
  • Datsun 620 Pickup
  • Datsun 720 Pickup
  • Datsun S110 "200SX" from 1982-1983 (disk brakes)
  • Nissan S12 "200SX" 1984 (drum brakes)
  • Datsun 810 wagon
  • Datsun 910 wagon "810"
  • Nissan D21/D21U pickup
  • Nissan D22 pickup

Have you see the bodykit on my B210ZX?... Wider is better for me,.. I got room.... and I can cut off the 4link & fab leaf spring pads if needed.

My guess is D21 pickups had drum brakes (not disk) ... correct?

I know this is an old thread but when I hear H190 I wonder if they are going to want a Limited Slip / Posi too?

Once you have the strength you find yourself wanting traction and I hear Limited Slip can be hard to come by for the H190.
