The bolt spacing on the front bumper mounts was different on the 73 model. In 73, the gov't increased the mph crash rating of bumpers and Datsun had to beef it up and add larger bumper overriders. The threaded hole for the bumper overrider it is a giveaway as to identifying the 73 bumper. Physically, the bumper is the same size but you would have to do some cutting and welding to get it to mount to the stock 68-72 mount location. I have only had one 73 510 and I parted it out years ago. I should have paid more attention to it but it was quite a few years ago. I learned the hard way about this one year only bumper. I also had an NOS one that I sold to a guy for good money and had to buy it back when it didn't fit his car. There are several things that were different on the 73 model. The 2 door was the only model available and the doors on it were beefed up for side impact. The wiper and light sw and the heater control panel had fiber optic lights in them. The bumpers were different and a few other things that I am not remembering right now. 2 Link to comment
