Laecaon
I have read through a few threads. I am having an issue with the last of the 4 caps. I got the new ujoint on the driveshaft itself, both caps on and clips in place. Started the yoke for the differential, used a c-clamp to compress the caps in. One sunk in immediately, got the clip on for that,3rd cap. Now the 4th cap, I cannot get to move anymore. It only needs to go in another 1.5mm or so (what ever the width of the clip is). I cannot figure out why the cap will not go any further in. I bent a very strong c-clamp. I have tried a big hammer. I am going to take it into work tomorrow, and use the bench vise, and anything else to try and get it together. Quote Link to comment
yello620
bet money that you lost one roller into the cap. That little bit will keep the cap from going all the way in and allowing the c-clip to be installed. Only solution for that is to take those two caps back out and try again. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I have had the one particular cap off like 3 times. Making sure the needle pins dont come out. I know the pins are are staying put, as when the cap comes back off everything looks good inside. 1 Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
12-ton press or vise. Make sure a needle didn't get bent or fall out of place ( they like to do so ) Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
12 ton? wow, I put in the first side with a 16oz hammer and a c-clamp to hold it together. I am thinking a vise, or a 4lb hammer should do the trick. Quote Link to comment
