datzenmike
My mom isn't around anymore but I always think of her to-day. Many years ago we had a silly difference of opinion and I left my parents house in anger. I never saw her again. Six years went by and I found out almost a year after when talking to my brother. If your mom is still around, go to her and see her. If you are too far away, call her up. A simple call is worth more to her than any card or flowers. If you aren't close then get closer. I don't know what your situation is with your mom, I only know mine, and it hurts. Don't wait till later, do it now Quote Link to comment
kiznook
Nice words Mike. I couldn't agree with this more. I'll be working on my car then going to work to help keep my spirits up today. Quote Link to comment
MrRobatoGato
I agree. I went to College Place, WA to get that L20 from Nateoneel. left at 5am didn't get home till 2pm, but I took out to dinner Henry's 12 ave tavern in the pearl on the brewry block. It made up for the long trip, I made her tag along. Quote Link to comment
AtomChurch
I called my mom yesterday and left a message and said call me back. Then I called her today and left another message. She stopped calling me [only when she was a little bit drunk and only to complain about paying child support.] when I didn't renew the child support forms because the little bit of money she was paying wasn't worth a once a week drunk phone call with my mom that i didn't enjoy. I wanted her to call and talk about normal things or just say hi. I tried. but it just never worked out. she lives to far to just drop by, and I asked her to move closer when she said she missed her kids one day but she said she likes the beach in cali more. datzenmike
You did the right thing even if it is more for you than her. You're a good son and will have fewer regrets later. Quote Link to comment

I guess I'm quite lucky. I worked with my mom and dad every day for over 20 years. And we still talk to each other. My dad is bed ridden but still hanging in there. I try to see em both as often as I can. And yea Ron you only get one of each. Quote Link to comment
