datzenmike
Power difference? yeah it will make about 40 hp less, maybe more. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Power difference? Not really- it'd be the same as a stock Z24 since the bore/stroke are identical. Mechanically the KA and Z24 bottom ends aren't much different, though the KA has a better casting (less crack prone). The difference between a stock KA and the stated frankenmotor would be significant. Double-digit percentage HP loss. The KA head flows better. The NAPS-Z is an anti-smog engine good for low-end torque but also low RPMs only, and the KA is pretty much the same but the slightly better head makes a difference in upper RPMs. Of course the KA's EFI system is better than anything the Z24 had as far as reliable power. nismopu
me and another board member are working on a 4 barrel carb adapter for the truck intake on a ka. I should have a prototype done next week, well see what it performs like anyway. Like mentioned above though, keep the KA head and or learn to deal with superior EFI. peace. Quote Link to comment
