D52E
I recently purchased one of those eBay Fiero radiators and i have to admit that I am a bit dissapointed with the fit. The radiator core depth placess it up against the fan clutch. I even purchased the 2 row model. I'm not sure i want to run an electric fan, move the engine rearward or cut the core support to make it fit. Does anyone have any ideas on a water pump/clutch that might be thinner to help gain clearence? Has anyone installed one of these radiators recently? rayven14
Oh no! you gotta chop that fan clutch getty up off the wter pump, it takes some patience and a cut off wheel (go slow and use lots of water so you dont super heat the bearings) and you end up with tons of clearance. There a write up somewhere on here about how to do this. Quote Link to comment
D52E
I was hoping there was a combination of parts that would help me instal this radiator and still retain the factory fan clutch. I would like to avoid the complexity of running a fan and thermo switch if possible. Does everyone with this radiator run an electric fan? Quote Link to comment
rayven14
Electric fan isnt that involved or complex at all, basically four wires (including a relay) and a thermal time switch. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
just run the non clutch water pump and fan Quote Link to comment
HRH
That's what I'd do! (Oh wait, I did!) ;) http://www.mattalbertson.net/electricfan.htm Quote Link to comment
