TheBirdistheWord
So you think the sender is bad??????? be careful. trying to take a sender out can break the lower housing. they crack. sender is fine, I already broke both of them when I removed the L16, replaced with new parts. However, the senders for BOTH the temperature gauge and fuel gauge are on the ground side. The gauge itself has a constant-voltage (8V) and variable ground. So bad grounds at the cluster aren't going to affect the gauges, but a poor voltage source (bad gauge regulator or over/undervoltage alternator) will produce erratic gauges. Plus, if the wires from the sender are bad and grounding out, they'll make the gauge go full defelction. the gauges actually stopped working before the swap, some other symptoms have poped up since the swap which kind of worries me. where do I source this regulator for the cluster?
