cast iorn head?

so a buddy of mine has a cast iron head for a l16 and i was wondering if anyone knew any more about it? he told me you could run it on propane instead of gas. but i want to know more!!

well he had gotten it off a L16 SSS that he found and didnt know much other then it could run off propane and that Nissan said it didn't even exist when he tried to find out about it.

as far as an aluminum head vs an iron head for propane, i dont see where it would matter.

 

propane burns with less intensity, giving it a higher octane rating. would also mean an aluminum head would not be harmed if running propane

from what Iv seen the LPG motors had the same heads.

its just a different carb and fuel delivery system.

 

and there wasnt ever an L16P sss

i think it might. and not sure on the peanut. he sasid he thinks they where using them at one point in race cars

Can't see any advantage that would offset the increased weight of the iron. True SSS heads are the tits.
