strang3majik
Where would one acquire a heater core for a 510? Haven't hooked mine up, but, it looks to have been leaking before, so...not sure how it'll work once I hook it up now. So...where can you get one? I work at Autozone and we can't get them...lol Nor does Rockauto list them. I found a website that lists them, but, for $390, I'd deal with the cold or get an electric heater. Has anyone found one out of another vehicle that would work, or maybe just a place to get a stock replacement at a reasonable price? Quote Link to comment
datrat77
pretty sure................. every other datsun heater core Test it.. Fix it.. just a solder job Quote Link to comment
strang3majik
I wouldn't think every one would have the same outlets, but, I'll look into it. And, it has spots of green corrosion in a few spots in the fin area and a couple on each of the outlets. Be much better to just replace it since if those spots were weak, so are others. You could pressure test it... there are even different models of 510 heater cores. I think 620s have the same dimensions, but you will need to run extra long hoses. Quote Link to comment
datrat77
You can line the inside of it. forget what the stuffs called but it's a conductive resin. Quote Link to comment
strang3majik
I'll pull it out of there and pressure test it and see what I can do with it...but...its been open to the elements for who knows how long, on top of the fact that florida kills heater cores anyway...lol I was just hoping for a cheap replacement instead of trying to repair this one...haha. I think one for my Omni is like $30 :P Quote Link to comment
HRH
I haven't seen 510 heater cores available for a long time. Retrofitting an existing common heater core is probably the best solution. Or having your original unit repaired, which sometimes costs more than a new heater core. Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
pay to play!!! you are also going to whine about a heater valve costing over a hundred dollars? i got my core repaired locally for about sixty bucks Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Some one gave me a free 620 core, looks about the same, but the inlet/outlet are wrong. Valve, it seems that most can fix it relatively easily. Quote Link to comment

Hell...I'll make a bracket to put a kerosene heater in the bish before I go paying a few hundred dollars for heat...lol Really...I need to pull it out and get a good look at it to see what can be done. I'm almost certain there is another car that has much more readily available parts that can be used...its just a matter of finding it. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
They sell ceramic heaters you can fit two of them in there, works better than thestocker cause it works immediately even if the engine is cold. Quote Link to comment
