d510addict
I have an L20b with an EI dizzy swap off of a Napsz20e motor and the distributor is wobbling while running/driving. So much so that I believe it is starting to rattle while I drive making a fairly loud noise. I do not know if all of the distributors are held down by only 1 bolt but mine is and I do not know how to tighten it any more so it will stop moving around so much. Has anyone dealt with said issue? Should I be looking for another dizzy swap with a different pedestal? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There are two 10mm bolts holding it to the timing cover. There is an adjustment screw on the side. . Quote Link to comment
EricJB
Is the shaft bent? Clamp it in a vise (gently) and put an indicater on it. I took a dist out of a wreck once and it would only run on 2 cyls. The shaft was bent just enoigh to not open the points on the other two. Quote Link to comment
d510addict
Mike the dizzy is lose/wobbling from the adjustment plate up. The pedestal is in there solidly but it almost seems like the dizzy isnt fitting tight in the pedestal. Its hard for me to explain...going to try and take the dizzy off and see whats up. DAT510
The plate mounts on to the dizzy through a 10mm bolt...you have to be under the dizzy to see it. Quote Link to comment
d510addict
Ya its def the plate, I had to mix and match to get things to work right and I think the plate i have is just not what I need. Gonna have to make one or go to the junk yard and find something else. Quote Link to comment
