DanielC
Clean the threads of as much dirt as you can, with a wire brush. Spray penetrating oil on the nuts, disconnect every thing else. Fuel tank, hoses, electrical connections between bed and frame. Anything else I forgot. I prefer to remove the nuts by hand, you have better feel of the nut loosening. If it gets hard to turn, spray more penetrating oil on, above and below the nut, and screw it back on, clean the threads with wire brush more and try to remove the nut again. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Personally I find it easier to just tighten the nuts till they bust/turn off, they are so rusty around here, it's not that difficult. If they were in good shape, follow instructions above in the previous post. Quote Link to comment

nismo dr
2000 lbs? Did you add weight? Two people can definitely handle the bed. Quote Link to comment
izzo
my first truck. a 1978 toyota long box. My dad and I pulled it off to replace the in tank fuel pump. I was 16 at the time, we got it on/off with just us two. Kind of heavy, but two adults should be able to do this. Quote Link to comment

79D50
Grind, tighten, or cut the old bolts and duckbill washers and throw them away. They are garbage. See this link on how to build your own. I did this and it worked fantastic. In fact, I have been toying with producing these for sale. It will cost you roughly $40 in parts if you choose to go stainless, which I did. Enjoy! My link Quote Link to comment
KC Phirus
JCR Our best bet is to just cut it off. And between us and whoever else is at my house we can pick it up no problem. Quote Link to comment
