Points to EI.... No spark

Recommended Posts

As the spark plugs wear, the gap gradually increases. The voltage required to fire the plugs goes up. If the voltage required to fire the plugs goes up too much, eventually, it is easier for the high voltage to go somewhere else to get to ground, instead of firing the plug. The insulation in the coil pack, or somewhere else breaks down, and once that happens, if becomes even easier for the voltage to not go to the plug.

So, not ever changing the plugs can damage coil packs.
