Lordmodelbuilder
I stumbled across this fiberglass 620 cowl hood today while out searching the wrecking yards. It had been put in the bed of the truck and then the engine was thrown in on top of it. The alternator bracket poked a hole in the hood and one of the underside braces is cracked. I figured if it can't be saved, maybe I will cut out the scoop and let someone make a mold of it. Anyone seen one like this one? Manufacturer? Brad Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A lot of fiberglass parts were built in low volumes. Could be anything. The scoop doesn't look like the common chevy one that most guys fit. Showcar doesn't list any 620 fibreglass panels, just 510, B210, 210 and the usual others. Quote Link to comment
Z chopper
I saw a 620 cowl induction hood on site but not sure which one. I wonder if that could be affixed onto a stock 620 hood structure to make use of stock hinges and latches Quote Link to comment
mike
Does it have a frame underneath it? You might be able to take the frame from under a stock hood and bond it to that one just to get it straight/square. As for the cracks and stuff... Fiberglass isnt too hard to patch, just make sure to wear a mask and gloves and long sleeves when youre sanding. I wouldnt cut it up by any means. Quote Link to comment
Lordmodelbuilder
The glass hood does have a framework under it and also the mounts for the hinges as well as the latch. Even has the hole for the prop-rod. The framework isn't metal.Brad Quote Link to comment
