atkinson40
My temp gauge very seldom budges off the lowest setting. If I've driven it for an hour freeway and let it sit a couple of minutes and start it back up it goes about half way up for about a minute and then falls back to around zero. Once in awhile if its really hot outside and its pulling hard it will get up about a quarter. Can this be right? -K Quote Link to comment
Jester
Probably not. I would suggest getting a new temp sensor. It is the one on the thermostat housing with one wire going to it. Fairly cheap and a great place to start your looking. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Your thermostat has failed. I had the same with my 710. The stock thermostat had a rubber seal that had puckered and was allowing water through. Gauge would almost reach the lower run range. Some thermostats are designed to fail in the open position and some can simply stick or jam open. Be sure to spend $10 or more and get a good one. Use extreme caution loosening the top cover bolts. The long front one tends to corrode in the hole and can easily snap off. . Quote Link to comment
