oldschool80sguy
I saved this valve cover from the scrap yard, cleaned it / blasted it and smoothed it. What color should i paint it and what would you think the value of it should be? I don't need it. just wanted to restore it and give it to a good home. BEFORE: AFTER: Quote Link to comment

ptown green
I think it would be worth it to more people if you left it as it is for them to paint. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Is that the collectible oil filler cap with the elephant on it? Well it's worth more than the cover. As for the valve covers the DATSUN 1600 with the fins all the way to the front are the most valued, then without the fins to the front then DATSUN OHC and last the NISSAN OHC. (there may have been others in between) A highly polished one represents a lot of work and are nice but unless it's in an uber clean painted engine bay, tends to look kind of bling bling. Crinkle paint is nice with contrasting lettering. Matching the block paint is ok also. . Quote Link to comment
