datzenmike
Jeez, I've driven through 13 states in the past week, and you know which one has the craziest drivers? Ontario. Fuck Ontario's disrespectful suv drivin', water bottle swiggin', no signal lane changing, ride my bumper, jam on the brakes, blue tooth usin', gotta get to the box store and then the casino, fat entitled pricks. Fuck you Ontario! 1 Quote Link to comment

Fuck you Ontario! I think one driver that cut me off managed to do everything on that list! My friend in Detroit bought a mini from the northwest - I thought you might like the grille badge: Quote Link to comment
Migi
I have a set of instruments that I pulled out of a 710 in a Finnish junkyard to offer in trade. With a tach! And a metric speedometer, so you can pretend that you're going 150% faster! IMG_2340 by willkrause, on Flickr how and when? Quote Link to comment

(sort of like California) The women are porkers, well the ones over 30 are. For gawd's sake use the drive through if you go to McDees, or else ride one to the counter. Driving is a nightmare. What happened Ontario? You used to be a fairly good looking chick. Don't be surprised if you get a handshake instead of a kiss goodnight. Quote Link to comment
Burabuda
looks like ottawa was the place to be if you were a royals fan Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I'm not a big fan of the royals but they can be counted on for a few chuckles. ..... sorry Ma'am. . Quote Link to comment
Will
Woah... Things got all Canadian around here! The 710 is safely nestled in Brooklyn and the road trip is at an end. I think it's time to start a project thread for this car - I started disassembling the SSS motor so that I can get the head resurfaced, and after 4,000 miles it is absolutely necessary that I install a radio! Also, sometimes the starter doesn't want to turn... gotta figure that one out. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
My 710 had intermittent starter. It always started but would click a couple of times first sometimes. Put a spare on... same thing. Checked the 12 volt signal to the starter solenoid from the key and found the 36 year old wiring was only letting 6-7 volts through and this wasn't enough to click the solenoid in. The cure was using this weak signal to work a relay to shoot 12 volts straight from the battery. Never had a problem since. Quote Link to comment
Will
I figured it was something flaky with the wiring - after problems with the ignition switch and fuses that replaced the fusible links left me stranded a few times on the cross-country roadtrip. I need to track down my multimeter! My 710 had intermittent starter. It always started but would click a couple of times first sometimes. Put a spare on... same thing. Will
how and when? I just noticed I didn't answer your question from a long time ago! I went to an animation festival in Finland that was screening films for a few days (a cartoon I made got into the festival, so I figured it would be nice to see a place I'd never visited.) I didn't want to just sit in theatres the whole time, so I contacted someone who lived in the area that I'd met through the Datsun Owner's Club in the UK (Juhani Halmeenmäki.) He offered to take me to a couple Finnish Junkyards, and it was amazing! There were so many cars that never came to the USA! Like Citroen Visas and Wartburgs and Ladas! He didn't have time to take me to a really nice junkyard that was way out in the sticks, but he gave me directions there. I hopped on a bus and rode until I spotted a Datsun 100A sitting atop a junkyard fence. The owner of the junkyard was one of the two people I encountered in Finland who spoke no English, but we managed to haggle out a price for all of the Datsun parts I found by writing numbers on a scrap of cardboard!
