All the info you seek is there. Its a closed chamber head, so higher compression. but smaller valves IIRC. Check out olddatsuns.com theres info on there

They are not all closed. Most, probably all N Am L18s and early L20B had them but with open combustion chambers. I have one on my 710 L18 and I doubt it's closed.It has large intake valves and is similar to the U-67 head.

:) It happens. The closed chamber is somewhat rare but not overly. The ones we see were likely bolted to import motors from Japan. Back in the '80s when many L18 were needing a good rebuild, it was cheaper to buy and install a low mileage import motor. The Japs kept all the good stuff for themselves like closed chamber heads and dual SU's on the L18s.
