metalmonkey47
This is the best picture I have at the moment, but I'm not sure what it is. I'm cleaning up under the hood and removing EVERYTHING I can that I don't need. The piece in particular is the black box mounted on the firewall next to the VIN plate above the valve cover. I'm not good with wiring diagrams Edited February 7, 2011 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I think that is the intermittent wiper amplifier. To check it, disconnect it and see if your wipers still work. Quote Link to comment

Tried that and still had wipers Think the IWR is behind the fuse box based on the diagram, but haven't taken the time to verify. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Are there any numbers on the box? Or can you post a close up photo? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I'll post a better photo tomorrow afternoon. The box didn't have any numbers that I recall, but I know there was a tag on the wire strap that lead to it. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You know you can remove just above everything in that photo... Quote Link to comment

MicroMachinery
Get a wiring diagram. You should be able to see which color wires are going to it in the engine compartment, then use the diagram to figure out exactly what those specifically colored wires go to. ;) Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Maybe it's the talking Datsun option. Although I think those are under the dashboard. Gotta love the 80s... Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
dood that looks exactly like the wiper amplifier. But the 210 has it under the dash, while the Sentras had it on the firewall right there...well over to the right side a bit more... Quote Link to comment

Thats what I thought... but when I unhooked it I still had wipers.. huh.. I'll have to trace down my manual so I can run through the wiring diagram. ggzilla
* 24038-H8800 HARNESS-WIPER (INTERMITTEN 0880- B310 USA The photo above is a 620 amp (has five terminals). The B310 one should have all six, because it has two intermittent positions instead of one. Quote Link to comment

I'll have to try it again tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
