diesel swap?

thinking about doing a engine swap. any suggestions on where i can get a turbo diesel 4cyl? or what type of engine will work?

haha diesel. Get a nissan diesel if you can find a good one. Remember -- Keep it real, keep it all Nissan.

dunno about that. Isuzu made a great small, light turbodiesel. But they split from Nissan decades ago.

 

 

But why you want diesel? It costs more per gallon. Installing a 5-speed and higher rear diff gears will gain you as much mpg as a diesel. Although if you add a diesel + 5-speed + higher gear it wil be even higher mpg...

just something different. right now im just doing research and seeing whats out there. i like the high torque i guess.

I own a couple of nissan SD22-25 diesels, a L20b has as much torque as my small diesels, but the sd22 diesel gets about 36 mpg on the hiway going 60 when the L20b isn't even close to that. wayno

kinda looking for a newer engine. with 300-400lb/ft of torque, not worried about the mpg. i drive like 5-10 miles a day. just thought that would make a good drag/autocross setup.

300-400lb/ft of torque. So you're thinking of putting an overweight engine in?

 

What about the VW 2.5 turbodiesel? It's only 295 ft. lb. but weighs only as much as a V8, about 500 pounds.
