datzenmike
The FS5W63A dogleg is good for an L16/18 and only adequate for use with an L20B. Adequate for a light weight car. It's also at least 30 years old, well used, high mileage and had several owners that likely did not keep up maintainance oil changes. In comparison the longer FS5W71B is likely the same but less likely to show it's age as it was designed for use behind a six cylinder or heavy hauling in a truck. FWIW A 510 wagon with a longer FS5W71B can use a sedan drive shaft. The sedan drive shaft is 1/2" shorter than needed but it will work just fine. Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
so I will need a Beefier tranny, ok, and I can use a stock sedan or wagon drive shaft cuz it's shorter? But I'll still need to mod the cross member and tranny mounts to fit it into the car right? Once I find a new tranny, I'm going to try to get you over to my place to help me Dislexicdime Datsun master!!!!! Quote Link to comment
