DREWSDIME
I have a 1968 510 and I would like to just replace the front strut cartridges. Im just trying to get this on the road and I do not want to do the whole zx front conversion yet. What kind of inserts can I use on stock 68 front struts? Maybe someone can help. Thank you Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
since 68/69 cartridges are NLA people get the 280zx 81-83 cartridges. They are even shorter that the 68-69. Most people shorten the strut housing also to fit this as this loweres the car a little more w/o actually cutting the springs. But if you dont shorten the strut tube you can use the 280zx cartridge and use use some thick meatal washers that fit inside the strute tube of machine out a alum spacer/steel spacer to drop on the bottom. this is so the gland nut will hold the cartridge in the right spot. thats it. soem people go even shorter when doing coil overs and get VW/AudiFox or Toyata MR2 size inserts Quote Link to comment
