Pineapplegti Posted September 8, 2010 Report Share Posted September 8, 2010 I thought id start a build thread .. I found this poor thing in the town of Needles Ca.. about 2 miles south of Hell. I work there.. I bought it and had it towed home to good ole barstow ca . The last 2 weeks i have been tweaking and playing with it trying to cut my teeth into a Datsun again.. (been 10 years) I removed the dobi skirt.. and cut a coil from the front so i wouldn't have to look at it sitting so high(threaded body front coils soon).. Installed the fuel tank.. had the radiator boiled and cored.. and driven it once or twice and beat the crap out of it lol.. Here she is now.. Overall plan.. 1st wave. Threaded body coil conversion (right around the corner.) Fiberglass or carbon hood front fenders trunk front fascia and possibly spook..(all exterior fiber would be painted.) Upgraded brakes that will fit under 13s. fiber door cards Get body remaining metal straight as possible finish exhaust for l16 .. fuel cell Make rest of interior liveable. i have these seats.. thinking of using them 2nd wave cage ..nothing fancy..nothing scca/nhra legal just something to keep the car square. Engine swap.. ls1 or aluminum family member .. 6spd.. sti rear end. Rewire the car with littlelfuse.com wiring solutions http://www.streetrod...dule/index.html 3rd wave.. Replace driver quarter..strip back down and paint white or a super light baby blue. What i want in the end is just something stupid.. it should burn the rear tires up fairly well and make neat ls1 noises lol.. I doubt it will be very fast in a1/4.. well not as fast as it should be with that motor due to traction limitations of the 13s but it should be fun to get groceries in. :D Stay tuned. bonvo Posted September 13, 2010 Report Share Posted September 13, 2010 sounds like a fun idea though as i mentioned elsewhere why not run a 4.3? its a 350 -2 cylinders and would probibly fit alot better then a 350 make alot of power and still make the noise you want Quote Link to comment
