hooker71
i just bougt a 71 521 and it looks like theres a little play in the kingpins on this truck as well as in need of some other steering parts like tierods idler arm so on. my question is should there be any play in the king pins? is there any way to tighten them without rebuilding them and also are the 620 kingpins the same because i can find the kingpin kits for a 620 but not a 521 what other parts are interchangeable between the two? datzenmike
The 520/521 kits are the same number but the 620 are different. 521 Nissan king pin repair (kit) 40022 14825. You get the new pin, shims, thrust ball bearing, top and bottom bushing, top and bottom grease plugs, grease nipple, new cotter pin bolt and nut. Looks like about $80. Mklotz did one once. I did two on my 521 and they were worn out again in 6 months because no-one knows how to do it right. Quote Link to comment
