sdsurf
It is an L-16 with the old single pointer. Trying to see where the correct timing should be and if my pointer is possibly bent. Also, looking to check idle speed without a tach Quote Link to comment

Cuts metal like mad
Can you put the L20b sawtooth pointer on the L16? Just curious. You can but I have no idea if it will be correct. :D I had a car that someone did that to... Hainz told me it was wrong, and said he could only get the timing close cause he didn't know if the 0 mark on the pulley was in the right spot for that pointer. Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
OK, Runs great off remote gas can but once I hook it to the tank I get nothing. Is there any quick method to "blow" out the fuel lines? Quote Link to comment
HRH
Yeah, drain the tank and take an air nozzle and blow it back towards the tank. Then install a fuel sediment bowl to catch the rust before it enters the carb. Empty frequently. Or have the tank boiled and repaired. Quote Link to comment
BACARDI_DWB
does it run at all? or does it run about 50 yards then die? if it runs about 50 yards and die then you have a problem with the evaporation system for the tank. if you have taken the evap system out and capped off your lines then you need to have a ventalated gas cap. if it does not take any fuel from the tank at all i suggest following HRH's ideas Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
Is it a solid fuel line from the tank to the carb? other than at the tank? I was going to put a baloon on one end to see if the line is clogged as a test. Then drain the crap from the tank... Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
this is the dude I sold my original black 521 too. Looks like he got it registered and then got it stolen http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/1151502092.html too bad. That truck had good potential Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
Well here is the latest CL ad for my old truck. Originally it had been stolen and the engine taken out. Now it turns out he had the engine all along. Pretty damn fishy if you ask me http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/1262147192.html Quote Link to comment
