are they hard to come by? cuz im looking for a couple of them with trannys, at a ratsun price. one is for my 510 and one is for my friends toyota.. just wondering if there hard to come by as i dont normaly see them for sale

91-97 240sx......... or some nissan trucks (frontier)........... shouldn't be hard to find,,,, .... just grab all the wiring and sensors......... and do a compression check

Intake is entirely different for D21 vs. cars. Car is better for performance. Also, blocks are cast in Japan with an engine girdle for the sohc 240 KAs, think it's that way with the DEs too. The truck sohc and dohc are all Mexico cast. Nothing wrong with that, but if I had a preference I'd pick Japan. Of course my whole truck was made in Mexico, so oh well.

 

I find it hard to get KAs as they're still fairly desirable motors. It's a bitch to swap anything else into the D21. Easiest way to find them is someone who's putting an SR20 into a 240. Some people give those motors away. Hell a guy who came by NAPA planning a swap was going to toss the KA in the trash heap, and I told him to come back and see me when he got it out, but don't toss it.

people are posting up motors with 150k+ mi. for sale on craigslist now for 1000$!! I remember just a few years ago when 60k mi. motors were going for 300$!! guess the SR craze has finally equalized.

There is a ka24de still in car for sale in washinton county, for $300 with 5 speed ecu, but no harness or tranny. Oh and 196k miles...

yea i picked up my ka and all wiring and ecu with dc sport header, cold air intake and a few other goodies for 300 bux, no tranny tho. and all i can find now is shit for a grand! and there high milage

i have a shipping company that offers great prices.. I shipped a 5.4 ford lighting motor to Louisiana for 165. shipping would probably be around 300-400 dollars
